Photograph of Andrea who is our Chair but also a telephone befriender, sat on a chair talking on the phone

During the COVID19 pandemic we set up a telephone befriending service because it was something that our beneficiaries said would be helpful. Now that we are able to offer in-person groups and services again we have taken the decision to bring our long-term befriending service to a close so that we can focus on our face to-face services. If you would like to access a telephone befriending service services are available through other organisations (for example Sightline or the Macular Society), for more advice or a referral into one of these services please get in touch.

We can still offer 6 weeks of peer support calls to anyone who feels they would benefit from this. We will aim to match you with a local person who understands what it is like to live with sight loss from personal experience. As a Staffordshire Sight Loss Association volunteer they would also be able to tell you all about the other services that we offer and connect you to these services where appropriate.

weeks of calls on 07931327018 or at [email protected]
