Staffordshire Sight Loss Association was set up to provide much-needed face-to-face services for people with sight loss in North Staffordshire however due to the COVID19 pandemic we had to suspend our in-person groups and services in March 2020 until it was safe to restart them. During that time we began to provide some online groups using the Zoom platform. We are now able to deliver In person Social groups and activities again. This has been welcome news for many people but we know that not everyone feels ready to attend these. We are therefore still providing some online groups and will continue to do so until they are no longer needed.

These groups are free to attend and for people who live in North Staffordshire.

Our Zoom social group and book club can be joined by video or telephone but our yoga class can only be joined by video. If you need any advice about using Zoom please get in touch.

Monthly Zoom video/ telephone social group

Join us on the third Monday of each month at 10.30am for our Zoom social group.

Zoom is a video meeting platform where all attendees appear in a box on the screen and can then chat to eachother. You do not need a Zoom account to attend. You can either access the group via video in which case you need a device such as a phone, tablet or computer that has a microphone / camera. Or you can access the group by telephone. We will send you an email invite that will contain a link. Click on the link and it will take you into the meeting. Depending on how your device is set up you may need to download the Zoom app and/or enter the meeting password and ID. Or if you would prefer to access the group via telephone we can provide you with the telephone number.

It is an opportunity to meet others, have a chat and to share information, ideas and tips. We occasionally have guest speakers and quizzes

If you would like to attend our Video social groups or would like advice about Zoom please get in touch on  07931327018 or at [email protected]
