Petra, Kerry, Sean, Lee and Steven are to give a presentation to the New Community Schools and the Prince's Trust on their involvement with xI. It is agreed that their presentation will count towards their English talk grade. Petra remembers that she has speech therapy on Tuesday mornings so she won't be able to participate. She is genuinely disappointed so she decides that she will speak to the whole group on

about her life prior to, and subsequent to, her adoption at eight years old from a Romanian orphanage. She asks to have her talk videoed to show to her parents. Wednesday Period 5 Petra commences her talk fairly confident as she is well organised, has notes and has practised at home. The group are completely engrossed with what she tells of her background. After the formal talk they ask many questions showing their interest and maybe now they will begin to understand Petra better as a person. Petra handles the questions superbly and speaks from the heart. Ten minutes of the period left, so Petra shows her video of the children -including herself- in the orphanage. Respect is shown by all.
