Specific Learning Difficulties - A Support Project

Why was this partnership activity necessary - concerns, aims, difficulties etc?
Our challenge was to meet the needs and provide support strategies for 6 boys (P5-P7) who have learning difficulties of a dyslexic nature.

Where does this partnership operate?
St Monan's Primary School.

When does this work happen?
1. Support strategies and differentiated tasks in the classroom.
2. Group work in learning support room.

How does the scheme work? How is it maintained, sustained and evaluated?
i. All pupils underwent a full assessment of their learning difficulties.
ii. Strategies and resources for supporting Class Teachers and pupils were explored.
iii. Specific resources have been purchased.

What are the benefits? What difference does this partnership make?
i. Increase in Class Teacher confidence that pupil needs are being met.
ii. Peer group support.
iii. Increase in pupil confidence and motivation.
iv. Support and communication with parents.
