Differentiation of History Course Materials S1 & S2

Why was this partnership activity necessary - concerns, aims, difficulties etc?
There was a concern that all pupils needed to access fully the curriculum. This collaboration ensured that pupils with learning difficulties could utilise the materials more effectively.

Where does this partnership operate?
In school - the partnership operates within the History & LSS Departments. It involves in-class and curriculum development co-operative teaching.

When does this work happen?
The partnership has existed for two years. It is part of both the departments' School Development Plans. In-service Days, Collective Times and within the working week.

How does the scheme work? How is it maintained, sustained and evaluated?
It is a collaboration and both departments regularly discuss and trial the materials in class. There is also in-built monitoring in order to evaluate and regularly review. The pupils also are asked for feedback which is then incorporated into future planning.

What are the benefits? What difference does this partnership make?
The benefit of the joint collaboration is more effective learning and teaching. Pupils can access materials which have been designed to overcome their learning difficulties. A meaningful and true partnership exists.
