Early Intervention Task

Why was this partnership activity necessary - concerns, aims, difficulties etc?
A project as part of Early Intervention to enhance children's learning in numeracy. The aim was "all children need to be taught to be numerate".

Where does this partnership operate?
This partnership operated in the nursery as one of our themes.

When does this work happen?
Daily for 4 weeks with certain data being collected prior to carrying out the task.

How does the scheme work? How is it maintained, sustained and evaluated?
Following data evaluation, the task is carried out followed by the use of supportive materials to sustain knowledge. Further evaluation of the task is linked to the transition document statements through observation and recording of children's work.

What are the benefits? What difference does this partnership make?
Benefits should be found when children are assessed in Primary 1, showing them to have a much clearer concept of number.
