Daily Reading Support

Why was this partnership activity necessary - concerns, aims, difficulties etc?
Pupils at risk of not achieving potential for various reasons - little parental support, absence, lack of confidence, not enough time to give that little bit of extra help.

In school

When does this work happen?
Monday - Thursday 9.00am - 10.15 am.

How does the scheme work? How is it maintained, sustained and evaluated?
Daily reading. 15 minutes per child at beginning of day. Programme under Teacher direction therefore meets child's needs. No cost. Initially evaluated through attitude of pupils on return to class. Longer term improved reading skills.

What are the benefits? What difference does this partnership make?
Improved confidence adults and children. Improved reading skills.
