DIARY

Monday
At the beginning of the week the children are introduced to the 4 rhymes by the Learning Support Teacher. Each child is then given a photocopiable sheet containing the rhymes.

A few samples of words containing these thymes are made and children make words themselves for each rhyme, writing on their sheet.

A copy of the same sheet is completed at home. Parents complete the sheet with their child in the evening.

Tuesday
The sheet is completed again with Classroom Assistant.

Wednesday
The sheet is completed again, this time by the Class Teacher.

Thursday
The Learning Support Teacher administers a Spelling Test of 10 words containing the rhymes and also a Reading Test of 20 words which is timed.

Friday
The Classroom Assistant administers a Dictation. All results are recorded on the Children's Progress Records and discussed with them. The Learning Support Teacher also works in classrooms with these children during Writing lessons where she sees the benefits of the P A T transferring to class work.
