To make provision for those children who were not succeeding with the spelling scheme currently in use in our school and who also required extra help with reading.

Where does this partnership operate?
In the Learning Support Room, Classrooms and in children's homes

When does this work happen?
Every morning for 15 minutes. Reinforced at home every evening.

How does the scheme work? How is it maintained, sustained and evaluated?
Use of Support Assistant, Class Teacher and Learning Support Teachers. Regular liaison meetings between these staff to discuss progress. Parents also informed of progress. Problems are discussed and achievements celebrated!

What are the benefits? What difference does this partnership make?
Children appreciate individual attention and compete with each other to supply words. The timed Reading assessment provides a challenge. Progress charts allow them to see at a glance how well they are doing. Four adults involved - children aim to please all.
