Back to top <#top> Equality 2025 - UK Advisory Network on Disability Equality Equality 2025 is an important initiative that will help the life chances of disabled people. Equality 2025 will have a direct voice to central government, to design policies and services that disabled people really want. The Office for Disability Issues has recently advertised for disabled people to join as members of Equality 2025. Members will need to commit 20-25 days a year and will be paid for the time they spend working for Equality 2025. They are looking for a wide range of disabled people, including disabled people from marginalised groups. You do not need to have previous experience in a similar role or have worked in government. Full details of the role of members and of the skills and experiences needed are available online <http://www.etelligent.co.uk/etelligent/mp-getURL.asp?SORDID=50&CC=capabilityscotland&CID=6127&CEMAIL=m.salmond@btopenworld.com&LID=157&SEID=162&T=0&FRM=1> or by phoning 01256 383611, e-mailing <mailto:equality2025@capita.co.uk> or textphoning 0870 609 4219. Instead the law should protect anyone who experiences discrimination on the grounds of disability. Research conducted overwhelmingly favoured a change to the present definition within the Disability Discrimination Act 1995.
